About the project
Currently, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer for our key client, a leading SaaS organization dedicated to helping businesses calculate and reduce CO₂ emissions across their supply chains. Their platform enables companies to visualize and manage their logistics carbon footprint, supporting sustainability efforts and compliance with environmental regulations. The development structure consists of two autonomous teams with both backend and frontend capabilities. You will be joining one of these teams to contribute to building scalable, high-performance systems that drive impactful climate solutions.
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to support the development of new features for the core product and contribute to experimental projects. Responsibilities include maintaining a reliable platform, reducing technical debt, and working with cutting-edge tools and technologies to drive innovation and system performance.
Your duties
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Improving and maintaining APIs, such as building new endpoints to support frontend features like saving user preferences.
- Monitoring and investigating Prometheus alerts, identifying root causes, and implementing long-term solutions (e.g., improving Kafka error handling).
- Identifying platform weaknesses, proposing improvements, and advocating internally for implementation (e.g., replacing Redis messaging with Kafka).
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with backend development, including proficiency in TypeScript (NestJS) and Kubernetes.
- Experienced in DevOps practices and infrastructure management.
- Familiar with databases such as ClickHouse and PostgreSQL, and messaging systems like Kafka.
- Strong communication skills; team-oriented, approachable, and comfortable asking questions.
- English language Upper Intermediate (B2) is a must.
